Hi, I’m Lauren Maring!
I'm originally from Seattle, Washington and am currently a 4th year Game Design Interactive Media major at UCI
My first experiences with video games as a child, looking over my older brother’s shoulder as he navigated pixelated worlds on his Nintendo DSi, sparked my imagination, creativity, and an affinity for character development. With a breadth of interests from traditional art to dance, fashion, K-pop, and anime, I aim to infuse my unique knowledge and talents into creating compelling concept and character art in 2D and 3D mediums to create games that resonate with audiences.

The Video Game Development Club at UCI has given me so many great opportunities to learn about games industry! Being able to attend weekly workshops, improve technical and corporate skills, and create games all while working cross-department with project leads, engineers, programmers, audio/SFX designers, and other roles allows me to experience the teamwork and collaboration involved in game development.

KKAP UCI is a K-POP based dance team that participates in performances and posts dance covers to YouTube. I served as the Publicity Chair on Board for 2 years, learning a lot about social media marketing and content creation as well as leading workshops and performances for 70+ people. I'm grateful to improve my dancing skills and ability to work in large teams to produce fun performances and dancer covers!

I’m overjoyed to fulfill my lifelong dream of being a college cheerleader through UCI Spirit Squad! This year is my third on the team and I’ve had so many fantastic experiences representing school pride through cheering at various sporting and community events. I’ve loved this sport since I first started at age 6, and it’s great to keep active with a group of such uplifting people. Zot Zot Zot!
